Ephalon - Triumvirate
Chapter 1 - Desperation
Ephalon historia
Welcome, my name is Daniel. You may have heard of me. I am a Cenebrian scholar of some renown.

If you've found your way here, that must mean you have some interest in the history of Ephalon.

There is no one better equipped to inform you of this than myself. Indeed, I have not been around since the beginning of time; however, I do possess the vastest collection of scripture on the entire planet. Perhaps I forgot to mention this, but I wrote a substantial fraction of it myself.

I do try to avoid getting involved in world-changing events, but sometimes such things cannot be helped. To that end, I apologise if certain tales are a tad biased. Nevertheless, there is nothing better than first-hand experience as I have no doubt you will agree.
Allow me to take you on a journey throughout time. From the very moment of Ephalon's inception up to the beginning of the fifth Era.

For your convenience I have sectioned off the different Era's so you can read through them separately at your own leisure.

Now then, let us travel along the path of history and uncover the truth behind the trappings of Fate, a delicately woven pattern that encompasses all amid its many strands.

Can Fate truly be deterred? Or is it merely an inevitable instant that shall come to pass no matter what we do. I can't say with absolute certainty; however, I have witnessed things that have made me come to believe that it very well might be feasible.

The truth of this lies somewhere amid the long and sordid history of Ephalon, shall we?
Every story has a beginning, though admittedly I don't know how accurate this one is. Mainly, one must consider that there is no one left alive to speak of these circumstances, yet there have been finds of artefacts and structures that genuinely date back to this period as well as specific geographical evidence that corroborates that certain events did occur. I hope to one day find out the truth behind why Ephalon came into existence, but for now, this is what I know.
My own story began near the end of the first Era, and to my dismay, the War of Dominance had laid claim to my parents. Surprisingly, somehow those horrid events were overshadowed by the miracles that occurred throughout this second Era. I regard that the coming of the hybrids was paramount to the future of Ephalon, as was the inauguration of Celestus Arramore as the Dragon Queen-Empress. I admit, it was a fascinating time to grow up in. The world changed quite a bit, and I wholeheartedly believe for the better.
Erafar has a rich and varied history, oft violent, but also beautiful at times. Celestus' Reign brought peace to the lands for many a decade, though as we all know, all goods things must end eventually. A vision of darkness spurred the Dragon Queen-Empress to action, and I believe that as a consequence of this Erafar began to descend into despair slowly. That latter half of this Era was the start of a horrible time in my life, one I care not to remember.
Arguably this is when my objectiveness begins to break down a little. I mentioned earlier that I don't like getting involved in the trappings of history. The consequences of such acts can be widespread beyond imagining, and thus, let the fall Ancients serve as an example of this. However, due to my 'position' and further compounding circumstances I had no choice but to involve myself more directly. Fate had seemingly grown impatient, or perhaps someone else had lit the proverbial wick to summon forth Eschaton.

Trapped amid my books, all the while Fate spun out of control, not knowing if tomorrow would herald the coming of the end, or merely just another day. Looking back, I am thankful I had Reina with me throughout the entire journey. She assuredly kept sane from the innate pesterings of Lord Maeyl. I always presented myself as calm and collected, though I had to admit... near the final days of the fourth Era, standing at the precipice of Eschaton... it shook me to my very core. I am now no longer the man I was before; a new purpose drives me, I must know the truth!
Due to the leave of my former master Daniel, I have been charged with taking over his duty as the scribe of history. My name is Reina, and I will be performing Daniel's responsibilities while he goes out into the wide open world to uncover the great mysteries that are hidden deep within the confines of Ephalon.

I regret that I am still new at this and need additional time to complete my task. I am currently working hard on finding out about the most influential and significant events that have transpired over the past two hundred years, ever since the end of the fourth Era.
